Delete Your Account & Data

You can close your AfroMbira account yourself at any time. You do not need to contact us first, and there is no waiting period before the request takes effect.

• Sign in to your account at afrombira.com.
• Open your Account page from the profile menu.
• Scroll to the Delete Account section at the bottom of the page.
• Select Delete my account.
• Type your email address to confirm, then confirm the deletion.

The change takes effect immediately. You will be signed out on every device you are logged in on, and you will no longer be able to sign in with those credentials.

Your account is closed and deactivated straight away. Your profile stops being available through the service, your saved playlists and library are no longer accessible to you or anyone else, and every active session is revoked.

We retain a limited internal record of the closed account. We do this so that we can meet our legal, accounting and fraud-prevention obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. That record is not used to provide the service to you, and your profile is not visible to other users.

If you would like your remaining personal data erased in full rather than retained, contact us using the details below and we will action your request to the extent the law allows.

Deleting your AfroMbira account removes the connection between your AfroMbira account and the Google or Facebook account you used to sign in. We stop holding the profile information that was shared with us when you signed up, such as your name and email address.

Deleting your AfroMbira account does not affect your Google or Facebook account itself. You can also remove AfroMbira's access from your Google Account permissions page or from Facebook's Apps and Websites settings at any time. Doing so stops future sign-ins but does not by itself delete the AfroMbira account, so please follow the steps above as well.

If you have lost access to your account and cannot complete the steps above, email us at [email protected] from the email address associated with the account and ask us to delete it. Please include the email address or username you signed up with so that we can locate the account.

We may ask you to verify your identity before we action the request. This protects you against someone else asking us to delete your account.

We respond to deletion requests within 48 hours and complete verified requests within 30 days.
