Amapiano is a South African house music subgenre that translates to "the pianos" in Zulu. It blends deep house, kwaito, jazz, and lounge music. The genre's signature sound is defined by a slow-to-mid tempo rhythm, airy synth pads, bright piano melodies, and a heavy, percussive, synth-based "log drum" bassline that creates a unique, infectious bounce.
